7- Orvis TLS PowerMatrix 905-4 Tip-Flex 9.5 -This rod, along with it's two piece brother is our number one selling stick! This is definitely a winner in the Orvis line up. Great for Western trout, every Guide would be happy if their clients arrived with this rod in hand. (Although, it would be much better if they bought at CrossCurrents while they were here!!) Seriously though, good for beginners and good for someone who's been at it for decades. An excellent choice for a first rod for a graduate of our Fly Fishing School!
Priced $350.
8- NEW Battenkill Large Arbor Reel -They improved on a good thing again! I loved the "old" BLA reels (I've got 7 of them!) and thought, what could they do to make it better? How about making the drag silky smooth with zero start up hesitation and much finer adjustments in tension (Nice for fine tippet on big fish like the Missouri!). Crap, it looks like I'm going to have to now get 7 of the new reels! Sizes for brook trout on up to giant tarpon. FYI- The sive V &/or VI are perfect for Spey Rods!
Priced perfectly from $198 to $259.

Won Fly Fisherman Magazine’s “Best Value Reel” for 2010!
9- Orvis Wonderline Generation 3 -They keep improving our best selling fly line! We sell more of this stuff then anything else for darn good reason - it's the slickest around. I've field tested AST, LazerLine, Rio, AirFlo and a couple others and have yet to find one that casts as easy, doesn't tangle up and repels dirt and lasts as long as Orvis Wonderline. (I'm not saying that those fly lines are bad. Heck a Chevy Impala is a good car but if you could buy a Porche for $10 more wouldn't you?!) This was the biggest "buddy buy" product CrossCurrents has ever seen. (That's where one guy buys an item and goes fishing with his buddy and lets him try it. The next day that fella's in the shop saying, "I tried my buddy's fly line out and man, I've gotta get that stuff!") There's a Wonderline configuration that will suite your fancy - from 1-weight double taper to 13-weight tarpon. Priced from $69 to $89.
10- Korkers Guide Model Wading Boots -This isn’t an Orvis product but these boots in my opinion are by far, the easiest to get in and out of and are the most versatile of any boot on the market. You can put on and take off these boots with just one hand with the slick-as-eel-poop BOA Lacing System. With this boot, there is no argument over felt versus rubber as you’ve got the option of both with the OmniTrax System! In a minute you can switch out the soles from Kling-On Ruber to Plain Felt to Studded Felt or any of the 8 soles that are available for these boots! I used the studded felt up in BC on slick steelhead rivers like the Bulkley and found the extra grip I got with the carbide studs was incredibly helpful. When the snow got thick, I could always switch out to the studded Kling-On soles and still get that bite of studs but the snow doesn’t stick to the rubber like it does to the felt! On the Missouri, I don’t need studs -or felt for that matter- so the plain Kling-On Rubber soles work great. This is a SUPER boot! They come with 2 soles - plain felt and rubber. (You still have to wash and dry these boots off before you use them in another body of water - no matter if there’s rubber or felt on the bottom!) Priced at $179.
