Description
Zebra Midge
Colors: Black, Red, Purple
Sizes: #14, #16, #18, #20
The Zebra Midge should be in every serious fly anglers box if they fish in water! Midges are found in every type of water body from small streams to big rivers and in stillwater too -lakes and ponds. In most places, there will be some sort of Midge hatch all year long and for our favorite river (the Missouri, of course), we can fish a Zebra Midge 12 months of the year and catch fish on them. Weather they are deep nymphed under an indicator with some weight or dropped behind a dry fly as an emerging pupa, they are an excellent fish-catching fly. A Black Zebra Midge dropped short (4″-10″) behind a Parachute Adams or Trico Spinner, is also a good Trico pattern (whether the fish think it’s a trico nymph or drowned spinner, I don’t care, cause they eat it!) These our our four most popular colors with Black being the king.
If you order one of our Missouri River Fly Assortments, you’ll most likely see a a couple of these bugs in that box.
(Note- There may be slight variations from the photos as we have a couple of tiers and slight differences in dye batches in the materials. But not to worry, all of them are fish catching little morsels! Also, not every color is available in every size.)
