Missouri River Fly Fishing Report

Hatch Report: Tricos, Caddis, Hoppers, Psuedos
Fishing is tough so this is where you handy dandy local fly fishing report is key. Fish are being caught but you gotta pay attention and have the right rig/technique. The flows are about normal but with the weeds and the heat fishing can be challenging.
Nymphing: Zirdle, Frenchie, Sow Bug, Military May, Blooms Weight Fly, Warrior Perdigon, Green Machine, Lightning Bug, Case Caddis, Tungsten Dart
Watch out for the weeds. Hopper fishing is fair. Not poor but not good. Make sure you get that dropper on your hopper. It’s a zirdle-nymph dropper game. When we’re in between hatches, the default food for the trout are sow bugs. Make sure you got one of those in your box. BWOs coming up in a couple weeks, so put that on your calendar.
Dry Flies: Corn Fed Caddis, Double Duck, Hi-Vis Rusty Spinner, Cluster Midge, Hi-Vis Trico, Harrops Palmered Tan Caddis, Translucent Caddis, Missing Link Caddis, CDC Caddis Tan, Purple Crazy
Tricos are thin and spotty. Pseudos in the afternoon. Not a ton of rising fish.
Streamers: Cravens Swim Coach, Lil’ Kim, Sparkle Minnow, Gold/Silver Kreelex, Chockletts Game Changer, JJ Special, Galloups Butt Monkey, Thin Mint Bugger, Skiddish Smolt, Zirdle
For those that can handle the weeds, streamers are a good choice. Articulated streamers are a bit tough to manage due to the weeds.
