Wanna go fly fishing for steelhead? Wanna hold one of these spunky wild trout? Then join the owner of CrossCurrents Fly Shop, Chris Strainer, as he presents his do-it-yourself steelheading adventures in Northern British Columbia Thursday, February 6th, 2014 at 6:30pm at Montana Wild.
The Skeena River system is the last stronghold of WILD steelhead in North America. It not only harbors some of the biggest and most powerful strains of these anadromous rainbows, but is also one of the most beautiful places to fish. Chris has been traveling to British Columbia for steelhead for the last 7 years, learning from a true fly fishing master and steelheading legend who’s been fishing BC every Autumn since 1987.
Chris will answer your questions like: When should I go? Where should I go? How do I get there? What equipment should I bring? Can you really do it on a tight budget? What is spey casting and do I have to use a spey rod? What are the must have flies? How do I tie them? and much more. There will be a multi-media presentation, a fly tying demo and a hands on demo of the tools and equipment for spey fishing for steelhead.
Whether you are interested in traveling to the Skeena on your own, or just want to learn a little more about spey casting for trout or steelhead in the States, you will learn something new and be well entertained.
