“August already?”

Current Flows: 4,100+
Weather Forecast: Mid to Upper 90s throughout the weekend
Hatch Report: Tricos!, Caddis, !

August is here! Where did the time go?! Today it’s supposed to crack 100 and then be in the 90s all weekend so that means you have to get out early. Our guides are starting at 6:30 AM to take advantage of the epic trico hatches.

Nymphing: Zirdle, Frenchie, Psycho May, Zebra Midge, Purple Weight Fly, Spanish Bullet, Rainbow Warrior, Green Machines,

The cold front that came through last week has made fishing a little tough but as you can see it’s supposed to warm up. Mornings are when everything happens so find those faster riffles. Zirdle with a frenchie dropper is our best ticket.

Dry FliesHi-Vis Trico Spinner, Hi-Viz Rusty Spinner, Cornfed Caddis, Missing Link, Double Duck Caddis, Hopper, Cluster Midge, Crayfish, Hi-Vis CDC Trico Spinner

It’s harder to find rising fish these days but the trico hatches are predicted to be pretty heavy as the temps rise. Go Hi-Vis Trico in the morning or Corn Fed Caddis in the evening, size 20.

StreamersLil’ Kim, Game Changer, JJ Special, Sparkle Minnows, Flash Fry Zonker, Kreelex, Docs Articulator, Sparkle Yummy

Not too many folks fishing streamers but if you do use a light leader, smaller streamer and stay above those weeds. Fish are still crushing the streamers but you may have to work for them.
