This premium floatant from Loon Outdoors is the world’s best gel fly floatant. Loon Aquel is long lasting, silicon based and won’t melt when it’s hot or harden when it’s cold. Furthermore, it masks human odor and won’t leave any slick on even the calmest water. (Pronounced “ahh kwel”).

Shop Staff Notes:  Although we almost exclusively use our shop made, Jet Fuel Floatant, to treat our dry flies, Loon Aquel is still in our kit bags and chest packs to use on our leaders and the very end of your fly line to help them float and give you a better drift, better mending and line pickup.  It’s also super convenient to use in cold weather on your flies as it doesn’t turn into a block of Jello when cold. It does work very well on dry flies but it’s not good on CDC and we use a lot of CDC on the MO. For CDC flies, use our Jet Fuel or Loon Lochsa.
