Rio Redfish/Seatrout Leader
Length:  9′  ;  Sizes:  16lb,  20lb

Rio Redfish/Seatrout Leader has been designed for the fly fisher that pursues Redfish, Sea trout and other similar saltwater species. They have a taper design that easily turns over typical saltwater patterns, and are made of a medium stiff nylon that cope with tough winds. Each leader is 9ft long and available in either 16lb or 20lb.

Shop Staff Notes:  Our own Capt. Ben keeps a pretty steady supply of these in his boat bag for Louisiana. He typically uses the 16lb leaders on his designated sheepshead rod and the 20lb leaders on all of his redfish rods. Time and time again they have proven themselves with redfish from 26″ to over 40″.  (Another excellent option for Redfish and other saltwater and big game species is to use the Orvis Mirage Big Game Fluorocarbon Leaders, especially when you need that extra stealth that fluoro gives you on spooky fish.)

Pro TIP: For a more natural action, use the Non-Slip Mono Loop Knot when tying on your fly. It’s easy to learn and works great on Redfish flies -or almost any fly.
